JHL Studio Office

The JHL office was built in 1954 on the edge of Portland’s Ladd’s Addition neighborhood which is in the heart of the city’s design-focused Central Eastside. The building was home to many businesses before it became our home including a recording studio and a yarn shop. Mass plywood panels retain a natural wood grain pattern and we used these through the design to serve as walls, room dividers and desks. The design infuses incredible warmth to an otherwise industrial space.
