Larson Loft Pearl District Portland, Oregon View Details
This Chown Pella loft in Portland’s Pearl District had not been renovated since it’s conversion from a warehouse into a residential loft building in the 1990’s. Eric & Jennifer Larson came to JHL Design for a look that was somewhat edgy but sophisticated. The project was completed in three months and included a complete bathroom remodel, kitchen cabinets, lighting and custom furniture.

This Italian-inspired home is nestled in the wine region of the Willamette Valley and tells a story of classic simplicity with a modern twist. Encompassing design desires of both the home’s occupants, this villa is simple yet unexpectedly unique in its mix of finishes.
Using the talents of local craftsman from around the state, JHL Design created custom plaster wall finishes and cast fireplaces combined with historic remnants from demolished buildings to blend old and new world charm. The floors are a simple travertine, the walls a mix of plaster and simple wallpapers, and floating ceilings are finished with an elegant, hand-applied silver leaf detail.

JHL design consulted on all interior aspects of this project, aiding in the selection of flooring, tile, fixtures, paint colors and furnishings.
