JHL Design partnered with Modern Organic Architecture on this LEED certified, mixed-use building in Corvallis. A modern design, the Elements Building will house a world-class spa, restaurant & bar. JHL Design is working on all aspects of the project, including with local craftsman to implement green building practices. Our goal is to evoke a sense of social and environmental responsibility through the development of this building.

This four-building medical facility was developed in 2005. JHL Design worked closely with the architect, contractor and all tenants on both the interior and exterior design details, including paint colors, surface materials, lighting, casework specifications and furnishings.

JHL Design worked with a separate team from each facility, developing individual colorboards with unique attributes that nonetheless ensured a cohesive design throughout the entire complex. Specifically, we used a mix of floor treatments and paint colors from a palette that complimented the facility’s craftsman architecture while ensuring each facility received individual design styles that met their specific desires.

JHL Design worked closely with the architect and facilities manager to create a space that reflected both the branding of Western Oregon Waste (WOW) as well as functioned as a waste facility corporate office. This project, completed in two phases, included consulting on all finish details for flooring, wall covering, furniture specifications and window coverings.

Design work also included consultation on common area bathrooms, the interior lobby and hallways, and furnishings.

JHL Design worked with Studio 3 Architecture to develop a new exterior design for this commercial building. Our challenge was to develop a design that would have both street appeal and a lasting design image. JHL Design provided on-site consulting to the contractor and building owners, and also worked with the building’s tenants to ensure minimal disruption to their lease space during the construction process.

On this project JHL Design worked with a team of investors to develop a design for the interiors and exterior of a mixed-use commercial building in downtown Salem that was to be both fresh and different.

JHL Design worked with the owners of Salon 554 to convert their space from a retail clothing store into a contemporary, unique Salon. With a fixed budget and short time-frame, we helped the owners completely change the look and feel of the entire space. We consulted on lighting, colors, flooring and fixtures for this now successful Salem business.

In 2006, the owners decided it was time grow their space and JHL Design again worked on the project, converting old upstairs apartments into a spa facility. We used high-end materials such as pebble stones, Kohler’s new Water Tile system in the shower, hardwood walnut floors and slate water features.

Keith Brown came to JHL Design for a Northwest look that was contemporary and fresh. Worked with Keith Brown to carry out their desire for a professional, cohesive design layout, we consulted on multiple project elements including floor covering, casework, lighting & art for this corporate remodel.

JHL Design helped St. Cyril Catholic Church remodel their sanctuary in 2004. With research of catholic symbolism and help from the clergy, we were able to develop a fresh and meaning design for this place of worship. Specifically, we focused on the smaller details, adding stained glass, new flooring and custom furniture. Light, space and visual calmness were an integral part of our design which enabled us to develop an atmosphere that reflected the church’s desires.
